Title: Adjective
Genre: angst-ish with a touch of humor? or at least irony
Series: original
Comments: This was inspired by a snippet of dialogue I wrote that was in turn inspired by a grammatical metaphor my latin teacher used to teach us stuff about adjectives. XD Will explain more post-story, 'cause I don't wanna give things away.

I'm thinking of submitting this to the English department's writing contest, although it's probably too short. Might have to dig through previous pieces and edit those into shape for it. But I'm glad I wrote this.

Title: The Stolen Child
Genre: creepy
Series: original
Comments: I got the idea for this while listening to Loreena McKennitt's rendition of Yeats' "The Stolen Child" on the way to Ocean City. I may rewrite it 'cause it's short and I'm not sure if it's what Mr. Boston's looking for in our last prose assignment. It's certainly an odd little piece, very different from what I usually do. But somehow I like it nonetheless.

Comments: Written for creative writing class. We were supposed to do incorporate four things: something inspired by real life; setting as character; biased narrator; and...ummm...I forget the fourth one. I decided to screw doing something inspired by real life, unless putting the story in a WWI setting counts as inspired by real life. I did somewhat incorporate setting as character and the biased narrator, though. And who knows, I may even have somehow miraculously incorporated the forgotten fourth component.

ANYWAY. This story uses my beloved Mort, first written in my one and thus far only NaNoWriMo attempt which has yet to see the light of any computer screen but my own, and then written into my piece "Coming to Terms" which, while it will be published in Sequel, has yet to be posted here. (Stupid me doesn't have the nice, edited copy on my computer. Need to get nice edited copy and put it on my computer so I can put it here). Technically he's the personification/whatnot of death, but he likes to play guidance counselor, so in here he's just playing guidance counselor. I really really like this story. I may hate in the morning, but right now I am incredibly fond of it, because I love Mort with a burning passion. He's my favorite original character ever. And I got to play loads and LOADS with my Bible for this story, and I implicitly set it in Prince Edward's Island during WWI, because I have been reading faaaaar too much of L.M. Montgomery. Rilla of Ingleside is what inspired this piece, actually. I owe it all to that book. And Loreena McKennitt's song adaptation of Yeats' "The Two Trees," from which I got the title.

I should stop rambling about it and just post the story, shouldn't I? Sorry. I just finished writing it and am SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY WITH IT. It needs editing, yes, but it was SUCH FUN to write once I got two things of caffeine in my system. Mmmmm, caffeine.....

Comments: Written for creative writing class, a three part character sketch. I don't like it overly much, but Mr. Boston liked it. Probably just 'cause he liked Doris (from another story I wrote which I will post eventually) 'cause he likes to read about little old ladies. Anyhoo, here it is. Format not corrected 'cause I don't feel like fixing it. XP Deal with it.

Comments: Written for creative writing: use the setting as a character. Katie had fun personifying a grave yard. I like this piece muchly. And can you tell I've been reading too much L.M. Montgomery?

Comments: Written this past Friday, when I was feeling very depressed and very bitter. Pretty permenantly incomplete as I rather loathe the piece, but I might play around with the idea again next time I'm bitter. It's an interesting idea....in a very bitter sort of way.

Description: Just an angsty little sketch thing of a girl who writes all over her arms to vent her emotions. Inspired by a character in a Charles de Lint book who had tattoos covering her body, each tattoo a monument to some big event (usually tragic) in her life, and based off of my own propensity to draw all over my right arm.
