20 Facts About Inoue Sora
Title: 20 Facts about Inoue Sora
Genre: list
Series: Bleach
Comments: You know, I just realized I had intended to write a fact explaining why Orihime calls him "Kakei" in the Viz translation of that plot arc....and I completely forgot to. >.>;; Oh well.

Anyhoo, wrote this for [info]20_souls, and posting it here right now because I haven't officially received permission to write it yet. >.>;;; I'm bored and at work, shut up. Will link it at [info]20_souls once Kia gives me the official go. XD;;

Oddly enough, this was by far the easiest list of the four I've done so far. o.O;; Weeeird. And I totally copied Kia's usual style. xD;;; It's because Kia rocks so much! And I suppose technically this should be called a list of facts about Sora and Orihime because Orihime figures so much into 90% of the facts, but I figure, hey, Sora's life basically revolved around Orihime; his facts can too. So shush.

1. Sora's parents did not abuse him too badly because he was a boy, and because he had a talent for fading into the woodwork. Orihime, though, did not have that talent -- she was always laughing or gurgling or crying. Sora loved her innocent vivacity, but their parents did not. Thereafter Sora used his talents to protect Orihime.

2. A sweet little old lady lived next door to the Inoue family. Every morning before going to school, Sora would drop Orihime off at her house. It was the only way he could bring himself to go to school, knowing she was in safe hands. His mother went ballistic when she found out, slapping him and yelling at him for involving outsiders in family affairs, but Sora appeased her by saying he only did it because the old lady was lonely.

3. Sora was top in his class at school, and extremely popular among the teachers, who didn't know what his homelife was like. His entire senior year of school they kept telling him what a waste it was that he wasn't going to college.

4. When Orihime was 2, her little old lady babysitter died. Sora missed three days of school in order to watch over her and find a new babysitter. However, their mother refused to let Orihime go to the new babysitter. All Sora could do was tell Orihime to keep quiet and stay out of Mommy's way. And it was then that he decided the moment he was of age, he was taking Orihime and moving out.

5. Once, when Sora was working on a report due the very next day, Orihime came crying to him because their mother was throwing out Enraku-kun, the stuffed bear her late babysitter had given her. Sora and their mother got into a fight, and while he saved the bear, in retaliation she destroyed the report. Sora got no sleep that night, rewriting the essay. This left a lasting impression on Orihime.

6. A month before his birthday, Sora contacted one of his more well-off relatives and got a loan. The day he turned 18, he took Orihime and left his parents' house, moving to a little boarding house in Karakura town. They brought nothing with them but a few clothes and Enraku-kun. The landlady babysat Orihime while Sora got a job to pay off his relative's loan.

7. Sora had always wanted to be a doctor, but not even his richest relative could afford to send him to medical school. Instead, he went to work for the payroll department of the local hospital, as he was brilliant with numbers.

8. A few months after they moved to Karakura town, one of their uncles came down to ask them to move back in with their parents. After keeping the landlady from beating the man with her broom, Sora told his uncle that they weren't going back, and nothing could persuade him to change his mind.

9. When Orihime was eight, their parents died in a car accident. Sora never told her about it.

10. Sora never dated in highschool, although one timid underclassman confessed to him. He never left any room in his heart for anyone but Orihime.

11. A year after their parents died, Sora met a nurse named Akane when she came to pick up her paycheck. They hit it off immediately, and began spending their lunch hours together. Everyone in the Hospital was convinced they were dating.

12. Sora never met Kurosaki Isshin, but he did overhear Isshin chatting with another doctor about his children. Sora wished his parents had been like that, and envied the Kurosaki children's good fortune.

13. Sora adored Orihime's hair. It was such a bright, warm color, reminding him of his favorite season, fall. When he first met Akane, her hair was dyed that same color.

14. Whenever Sora would go to a parent-teacher conference, the teachers would ask where was the parent. The first few times he lied and said their parents were busy. When the teachers got suspicious, he sent a note saying that their parents had died, and to please not talk about it in front of Orihime. He got no further trouble.

15. Sora loved ghost stories and horror movies, and he got Orihime hooked on them too. Instead of the usual bedtime stories, he told her ghost and alien stories to put her to sleep.

16. Sora hated the suit he had to wear to work and parent-teacher conferences. He vastly preferred bumming around in sweatpants and baggy tee-shirts.

17. Of all the things Sora needed to learn to survive, cooking was the one thing he could never master. Orihime picked up her strange culinary taste from his failed cooking attempts.

18. Sora never introduced Orihime and Akane, although the latter very much wanted to meet his little siter. He always felt guilty about letting AKane become so important to him; he didn't want Orihime to know there was another girl in his life.

19. Akane helped him pick the hairpins to give to Orihime. When the girl rejected them, it was a double-blow to him.

20. On the day Sora died, he was asked to stay late at work. He was hit by a car while walking to a payphone during his lunchbreak to tell Orihime he would be late and that he was sorry for fighting and he loved her.

I don't know why but working in the hospital payroll dept really got to me. *loves Sora* They better not screw him up in the filler--he's not NOT that creature that dragged Hime to Hell, he's beautiful good self-sacrificing Sora! Hell, he's the Jewish Mother of All Time!

#20 was a great ending. It went "snap."

My guess is that the little giggling girl has a power like the Grand Fisher's, and that what we saw wasn't Sora, but an image of Sora that the girl used to manipulate Orihime. =3 *firmly believes Sora's in the Soul Society*

Jewish....Mother of All Time? I thought that was Kia! *shot*

Heee, thank you. x3 You know those Sora lists....they just have to end with his death. XD ♥
